What beta gold is good for
Worth it for
- Trying professions early. Every profession learns its first camping object at skill 20, and the beta is the cheapest place to see which one suits you.
- Dungeon practice. The beta cap is level 30, and 4 of the new dungeons sit under it: Hall of Thanes, Ruins of Lordaeron, Excavation Site and City of Dalaran.
- Testing a build. Respec as often as you like: nothing you pay on the beta is real money in the game that follows.
Not worth it for
- A head start. Nothing crosses the wipe. A beta balance ends at the same moment the beta does.
- Reserving anything. Names, characters and items all reset. Name reservation for the live game is a separate step from October 27 to November 3.
- Guessing launch prices. A level 30 test world with a fraction of the players says little about a full economy. The tracker shows how jumpy it has been.
Beta gold ends at launch. The beta is wiped when Forever opens: characters, items and gold are all deleted. Buy beta gold for the beta, never as a head start.
Questions
Does beta gold carry over to launch?
No. The beta is wiped when Forever opens on November 4: characters, items and gold are deleted together, and nothing transfers to the live game. Beta gold is for playing the beta.
Why is the price per single coin?
Forever runs on the classic economy, where a single gold coin is worth a lot. Retail sites price gold per thousand; here the number on the card is the price of one coin.
How fast does the gold arrive?
Each card shows the seller's own delivery estimate, taken from their listing. The seller hands the gold to your character in game once the order is paid.
Can I order for an Alliance and a Horde character?
Yes, as two orders. Mail and trade only work within one faction, so each order has to name the side the receiving character is on. Pick the faction on the board before opening a card.
