How Normal works
The rules of this world
Normal is a world of its own. Blizzard confirmed on September 21 that characters cannot hop between rulesets: to play under different rules you roll a new character there.
Both factions are open to one account on Normal. What follows you between rulesets is the account, not the character: collections and Legacy points are account-wide.
Where the gold goes
Riding comes first. Training costs 100 gold for the first tier and 1,000 for the top one, and the mount comes free with the skill.
From December 9 the bill changes. Onyxia's Lair, Hyjal Summit and Barrow Deeps all unlock that day, and every raiding guild starts buying consumables at once.
Before you order
Mail and trade only work within one faction. The gold has to reach the side your character is on, so set the faction on the board before you open a card.
Launch offers for Normal appear after November 4. Until then, what is on sale is beta gold, and it is wiped at launch.
Questions about Normal gold
Is PvE gold the same coin as PvP gold?
The coin is the same; the market around it is not. Rulesets do not mix in Forever, so Normal and PvP each have their own supply, their own buyers and their own price.
Can I move a Normal character to PvP later?
No. Blizzard ruled out hopping between rulesets on September 21. To play PvP you create a new character on the PvP ruleset. Your collections and Legacy points come with the account.
