One world, four rulesets
How the Americas world is split
Rulesets, not realms
Inside the mega-server you choose a ruleset: Normal, PvP or Roleplay at launch, with Hardcore arriving in winter. Each one is sealed, with its own players and its own market.
Layers instead of queues
One world per region means the crowd is spread across layers of the same zone rather than parked in a login queue. Two players standing in one spot may not see each other until one invites the other to a party.
Faction is the border
Mail and trade only work within one faction, so the faction decides who can hand you anything. On the PvP ruleset an account plays one faction only.
Names are region-wide
Names have two parts, a first and a last, and each is unique across the whole region. Upgrade holders can reserve up to 3 characters from October 27 to November 3.

Questions
Can I buy gold for the Europe mega-server here?
No. Every offer on this site delivers to the Americas mega-server, and prices are in US dollars. Europe is a separate world with its own economy.
Does layering affect delivery?
It can put two people in the same spot on different layers, so they cannot see each other. A party invite pulls you onto the same layer, which is how an in-game hand-off is usually done.
