How PvP works
The rules of this world
On PvP an account can create characters for one faction only. Roll Alliance there and Horde is closed to you on that ruleset. Normal, Roleplay and Hardcore allow both.
Like every ruleset, PvP is sealed: no moving characters in from Normal or Roleplay. The one way in from outside is a Hardcore character that died and chose PvP as its new home.
Where the gold goes
Expect consumables to eat the most. A character that fights in the open world goes through potions and food faster than one that does not, and all of it is bought or crafted.
Riding costs the same as anywhere else, 100 and 1,000 gold by tier. Blizzard's roadmap adds a PvP refresh in spring 2027.
Before you order
Check which faction your PvP character is on, then pick that faction on the board. On other rulesets a wrong faction means rolling a character on the other side; on PvP that door is shut.
Questions about PvP gold
Can I play both factions on the PvP ruleset?
No. On PvP an account is limited to one faction. Normal, Roleplay and Hardcore let you have characters on both sides.
Does faction change the PvP price?
It can. The seller prices each faction separately, and the board shows both. The faction also decides delivery, because mail and trade only work within one side.
